Partial access for students

2020.06.26On 24 June 2020, students were again allowed to use AU facilities such as reading rooms and group rooms. At Dept. of Chemistry, the access to reading rooms and group rooms is reserved for students on the chemistry and medical chemistry programs.

DKK 13.5 million Novo Nordisk NERD grant to Alexander Zelikin

2020.06.25For the first time, the Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded grants within the research programme NERD, which is targeted at ambitious and wild research ideas in the fields of scientific and technical research.

New graduate school – new website

2020.06.04As a result of the faculty division, the faculty of Natural Sciences now has its own graduate school, the Graduate School of Natural Sciences (GSNS), and the new graduate school has launched a new website.

New ground rules for external collaboration

DanMax takes first light

2020.06.04Mads Ry Vogel Jørgensen, Project Manager Diffraction, had a great day on 2 June 2020, when the Danish beamline DanMAX saw first light. Representatives from DTU, Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen followed the process online.

Frans Mulder publishes in PNAS on how internal empty spaces destabilise proteins

2019.10.14Partial unfolding of proteins is a major issue in industry, as it may affect the stability of products. So how does an empty space or cavity in its hydrophobic core destabilize a protein? And would such a cavity in fact be empty? These are some of the questions Associate Professor Frans Mulder and his research team answer in a new study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
