Introduction

Department of Chemistry gives safety and environmental considerations a high priority. The safety in the laboratories is not only a matter of watchfulness when using chemicals but also when working with biological material, radiation sources, pressure tanks and electrical equipment. Thus, the safety instructions must include all of these things.

The Danish Working Environment Act dictates all employees to be active in the striving for health and safety in the workplace. Further, it makes demands on the arrangement of the workplace and on the use of technical devices and materials.

The safety instructions of Department of Chemistry are based on the demands of the act and on experiences from chemical laboratory work. All students and employees must comply with these instructions.
