Personalised study portal in the pipeline

2017.05.08As part of AU’s work with digitisation, students can now look forward to a new and personalised study portal that brings together all the university’s digital entry points for students in one place.

Summer University: New website helps teachers

2017.05.08All information about the Summer University can now be found on a single website (partly in English) which contains relevant information for departments, current AU teaching staff and international guest lecturers.

The Rigmor and Carl Holst-Knudsen Award for Scientific Research is conferred on May 24, 2017

2017.05.08Each year, the award is conferred on two researchers who have achieved the highest level of academic distinction and national as well as international recognition during their noteworthy careers. Read more and register (in Danish). Registration deadline is May 19, 2017.

DFF Grants

2017.05.05The Danish Council for Independent Research has awarded 6 grants with a total value of 21.274.260 kr. for research projects led by researchers at the Department of Chemistry

IT maintenance work on the weekend of 20 – 21 May

2017.05.05IT maintenance work will affect AU’s IT systems and services and cause interruptions at different times during the weekend of 20 and 21 May 2017. The IT maintenance work will, for example, affect access to mit.au.dk (Self-service) and Blackboard.

New centre will decipher the language of cells

2017.05.03A new basic research centre – CellPAT – will identify how cells ‘talk’ to each other, and thereby make it possible to prevent or correct the type of communication errors that lead to illness. Director of the centre is Jørgen Kjems, iNANO.

Queen Margrethe II’s Science Award goes to Bo Brummerstedt Iversen

2017.04.20Professor Bo Brummerstedt Iversen received Queen Margrethe II’s Science Award on 19 April 2017. The award is presented to an outstanding researcher by the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters.

IT maintenance work on the weekend of 6 and 7 May 2017

2017.04.18AU IT will carry out IT maintenance work from Saturday 6 May at 08:00 to Sunday 7 May at 08:00. The work is necessary in order to ensure a high level of operational stability and IT security for AU staff and students.

Villum Young Investigator call now published

2017.04.07This year’s Villum Young Investigator call is now published. Applicants usually have a PhD age of 3-7 years, and are either postdocs, assistant or associate professors. The grant amount is 7-10 mil. DKK, with deadline June 21st. The aim of Villum Young Investigator Programme is to fund talented young researchers in technical and natural sciences.

2017.04.06The Danish Council for Independent Research annual report including key numbers for 2016 is now available. In the report, the budget distribution across calls and councils can be found, as well as a view into the success rates, age distribution etc.

Phishing

2017.03.31Phishing is an attempt to use email to cheat you into providing sensitive information or installing malware. Phishing mails do this by attempting to fool you into thinking that their senders are trustworthy entities. Never open attached files or click links in mails which you suspect might be attempts at phishing.

New research funding database available to all researchers at AU

2017.03.28Researchers at AU can now use the external research funding database Research Professional when searching for funding. Currently, AU has purchased one year of access to the database.

Travelling by train

2017.03.23If you are going to travel by train, you can now use the DSB app to buy a ticket/use a multi-ride ticket, or you can get a Rejsekort Erhverv travel card.

Changes to library services at ST

2017.03.13The University International Club organises events for AU’s international staff, PhD students, guests and families affiliated with AU. The events are held in English, but Danes are also welcome to attend.

ST IT Helpdesk at Campus Aarhus moves back to Ny Munkegade

2017.03.13On Friday 17 March 2017, the ST IT Helpdesk on Campus Aarhus is reopening in its former premises on the third floor of building 1521 in Ny Munkegade. Opening hours will be restricted due to the move on 16 March, and delivery of orders may take longer.
